The federal government has accumulated more new debt--$3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29)—during the tenure of the 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses combined, according to official debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury.

What the story doesn't tell you is that the amount of debt per person if you take the whole national debt in to account and that is $44,767 per person. If you then divide up the debt among only the taxpayers in this country you end up with a $125,933 tab.
Bottom line is that there simply isn't enough money in this country to pay it all off.
